Job Ready
The Job Ready programme is designed to help you if you find yourself out of work or education. The course will teach you the skills you need to prepare you for the world of work. We’ll help you with your communication skills, CV writing, interview technique, IT skills and basic literacy skills. The programme includes a work placement and we’ll even give you advice and support on getting into work or further training following the course.
Working with the professionals
What makes Job Ready so exciting is that we run each course with a professional organisation. For example we have run Job Ready programmes with the fashion house Burberry and with banks in Canary Wharf. Professionals from these businesses will come in and work closely with you, sharing their experiences of work and what they get out of it. They may also host work placements so that you get the chance to work with them in their own offices.
How does it run?
The programme runs 3 days a week for 11 weeks, with a 2 week work placement. Sessions are in the form of workshops, role plays, team challenges and a host of other interactive activities. Even better, the course is accredited by NOCN, so you get a qualification to put in your CV. After the course we will continue to work with you until we’re happy that you’ve found either a job or training towards a job.
Who is it for?
Anyone who is struggling to get into work or training and wants to do something about it. We will work with you to develop the skills you need, all we need from you is your commitment and determination to turn your life around. Currently 75% of all our Job Ready trainees go onto employment and training within the first 6 months of finishing the course.
